Some wedding days are special because of the beautiful venue, the perfect weather, or the stunning details. Kylie and Garret's wedding day was all of those things—but what made it truly unforgettable for me was the people.
I've had the privilege of knowing Kylie and Garret for quite some time, and over the years I've also had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people through their family. Being invited to document such an important chapter of their story felt incredibly meaningful. There's something extra special about photographing a wedding when the couple feels more like friends than clients.
Their wedding took place at Sunset Farms in Union, South Carolina, a venue that immediately captured my attention the moment I arrived. One of my favorite features was the expansive rolling hills stretching across the front of the property. The open landscape created a timeless, countryside feel that reminded me of the kind of scenery you'd expect to find tucked away in the hills of the South. As the sun began to set, those hills transformed into the most incredible backdrop for golden hour portraits. The warm light spilling across the landscape created a dreamy, romantic atmosphere that perfectly reflected Kylie and Garret's relationship.
Another standout feature of Sunset Farms was the collection of mature trees near the front of the venue. As photographers know, finding beautiful natural light in the middle of the day can make all the difference, and these trees provided the perfect canopy for portraits. The filtered sunlight created soft, even skin tones while the lush greenery added the most beautiful rich green hues to the images. It was one of those locations where every direction offered another beautiful portrait opportunity.
Throughout the day, there was an overwhelming sense of joy, love, and celebration. Family and friends surrounded Kylie and Garret with so much support, and it was evident how deeply loved they are by everyone in their lives. From heartfelt moments during the ceremony to laughter shared on the dance floor, every part of the day felt genuine and full of meaning.
Kylie and Garret, thank you for allowing me to be a part of your wedding day. It was an honor to document these memories for you, and I am so grateful for the relationships that have grown through your family over the years. Your wedding was a beautiful reflection of who you are, and I wish you both a lifetime filled with love, adventure, and happiness.
